How to watch IPTV on two screens at once
A football match in the living room and a film in the bedroom at the same time? That depends on the number of connections in your plan. Here is how connections work and how to plan for two screens.
What a connection is
A connection is one device streaming at a given moment. It is not the number of devices you install Nagare on: you can set it up on your TV, your phone and your tablet, and as long as only one of them is playing, you use one connection.
What happens when you go over the limit
If more devices try to stream at the same time than your plan allows, the extra stream will not start, or one of the streams will stop. This is the most common reason for a stream suddenly stopping in a household that shares a login.
How to watch on two screens
- Choose a plan with at least two connections. The number of connections is listed on every plan on our pricing page.
- Install a player app on both devices and log in with the same details.
- Check your internet: two HD streams need at least 20 Mbps, one 4K and one HD stream about 35 Mbps, plus headroom for the rest of the house.
Tips for multi-screen households
- Close the player app on devices you are not using, so they do not keep a stream open in the background.
- Use player profiles to keep favourites separate; profiles do not add connections.
- If you need more connections than your plan offers, contact support@nagare.tv before buying.
Why connections are limited
Each connection uses server capacity, and limiting them keeps streams stable for every customer. It is also why login details are personal and should not be shared outside your household.
