What is an Xtream Codes login? Your IPTV login details explained
When your Nagare subscription is activated, you receive four pieces of information. Player apps call this an "Xtream Codes" or "Xtream API" login. Here is what each part means and how to keep it safe.
The four login details
- Server address (also called host, URL or portal): where the player app connects, for example http://server-address.
- Port: a number such as 8080 that tells the app which "door" of the server to use. Many apps want it added to the address with a colon: http://server-address:8080.
- Username: identifies your subscription.
- Password: proves the username is yours.
What "Xtream Codes" means
Xtream Codes is the name of a widely used way for IPTV player apps to request a channel list, the TV guide and on-demand content with a username and password. Because so many apps support it, the same login works on Smart TVs, sticks, phones and computers. Nagare does not make the player apps; it supplies the login that they connect with.
Xtream login vs an M3U link
Some apps also accept an M3U playlist link instead. The Xtream login is usually the better choice: it loads faster, keeps channels in categories, includes the programme guide and separates live TV from films and series. Use the Xtream option whenever your app offers it.
Typing it correctly
- Keep http:// at the start, and do not add "www" unless it is part of what we sent.
- Watch for spaces at the end, especially when copying from WhatsApp or email.
- Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive: a capital letter counts.
- If the app has a separate port field, put the number there and leave it out of the address.
Keep your login private
Your login is linked to the connections in your plan. If you share it, other people's streams use up your connections and your own viewing can be interrupted, and sharing is not allowed under our terms. Never post it publicly or enter it in apps from unofficial sources.
