How to set up IPTV on a MAG box
MAG set-top boxes work differently from Smart TVs and sticks: instead of installing an app and typing a username, you link the box to a portal using its MAC address. Here is the full process.
1. Find your MAC address
Every MAG box has a unique MAC address that starts with 00:1A:79. You will find it on the label underneath the box, and usually on the box's info screen as well.
Send your box model and MAC address to support@nagare.tv. Our team registers it and replies with the portal address for your box.
2. Enter the portal address
Menu names can differ slightly between MAG models and firmware versions, but the Servers and Portals settings are always under the system settings.
- Turn on the box and wait for the main screen.
- Open Settings, then System settings.
- Choose Servers, then Portals.
- Enter a name you like in Portal 1 name, for example Nagare.
- Enter the portal address we sent you in Portal 1 URL, exactly as written.
- Press OK to save.
3. Restart and load the portal
Go back to the main settings and choose Restart portal, or simply turn the box off and on again. The box connects to the portal and loads your channels. The first load can take a minute.
Fixing common MAG problems
- Stuck on "Loading portal": check the portal URL for typos, make sure the box is online, and restart it.
- Authentication or access error: the MAC address might not be registered yet, or might have been typed differently. Contact support with a photo of the label.
- Picture freezes: connect the box by network cable. Most MAG boxes are designed for wired connections and their Wi-Fi is limited.
- Time or EPG looks wrong: set the correct time zone in the system settings.
Is a MAG box right for you?
MAG boxes are simple to use once set up and are built for TV channel browsing. If you also want apps like YouTube or streaming services, an Android TV box or FireStick is more flexible.
